Story of the week (every Tuesday)
Not this week: sorry readers, I just turned 70 and I am celebrating. Yesterday, I announced it on my mailbox and got kissed by the mailman, how lucky is that! Then my 94 years old neighbor took me out for a Margaritha; she said it hit the spot. You will be glad to know that the plant underneath the cat survived.

Stupid cat!
My wild cat came in for the winter, together with my beloved plants, but I did not mean for her to sit ON the plants!
Here she is flattening my Heuchera caramel, celebrated everywhere for its round leaves showing hues of apricot and deep amber. You can make the colors of the leaves vary by changing the exposure of the plant: it is a small miracle in itself. This Heuchera is especially celebrated in my garden for being three years old. Actually, if you look carefully inside the pot, there is one leaf left...
If this happens to you, my son Scott suggests placing pine cones in the pots. I wish I had thought about this yesterday. I offered the cat a pot full of dirt, but she ignored it: nothing compares, she says, to the rich feeling I get from sitting on your Heuchera caramel.
I understand her perfectly.
